Who’s your favorite unreliable narrator and why do they stand out?
I would recommend The Cleaner, by Brandi Wells. The narrator is a custodian in an office building, but she takes her role a little too seriously and meddles in the lives of the people who work there. I like her because she provides some vicarious revenge on some irritating workplace archetypes.
What, y’all don’t enjoy a good unreliable narrator??? LOL.
I really like Humbert Humbert from Lolita. He’s so erudite but at the same time so deluded!
I recently finished The Dinner by Herman Koch. Initially I was enjoying it, finding it quite amusing and taking Paul’s version of events at face value. However about halfway through I began experiencing a gradual and horrifying realisation of who Paul is and what he finds acceptable. A really well-crafted and chilling read!
