Jesse Q. Sutanto is the author of 16 other novels including the Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers series and the Dial A for Aunties series. Have you read any of her other titles?

I did not even realize it was the same author but I have the Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers in my TBR so I need to jump on that!

I’ve read all the Vera Wong books and loved them. As much as I liked Mebel, I like Vera a bit more - more down to earth, hard to relate to the vast wealth of Mebel and Henk

I discovered Jesse’s books a few years ago when I read the first Auntie’s book. In the past year, I’ve read about four of her subsequent books and plan to read them all. The Auntie’s and Vera Wong are great escapes from the realities we are all dealing with now. Ms. Mebel also falls into that category. I enjoy the fact the Sutanto’s books include both humor and drama.

I have read all of her Aunties books, the (so far) two Vera Wong books, and Next Time Will Be Our Turn (Thanks, btw.) I love her books and I’d like to read her to zero. Except, I’m not sure about the YA, and especially the younger YA books. I’m not much of a YA reader. It’s a little hard to relate to the characters, as in through menopause, and my son is older than they are.

I read the Vera Wong books and loved Vera. Could you imagine if Vera and Mebel teamed up?

I have not, which surprises me considering how many books she has published. I’m looking forward to reading the Vera Wong books next and going from there. It’s always a pleasure to find a new favorite author.
