Who was your favorite character, and why?
Carol was my favorite. She seemed more sensible and calm and cool to me . Shrewd maybe. I just liked her the most, lol
My favorite character was Carol. Sheâs fiesty, funny and smart, plus sheâs a serial killer. Whatâs not to love!
Loved them all. A great ensemble ripe for a tb tv movie.
In the beginning I definitely liked Carol the best until they found her journals and then I was like
. Overall, Margaret was my favorite and someone I could visualize as a real person that I would want to go get a cake and coffee with. I definitely did not like Geoffrey or Catherine (at the end).
Carol was my favorite. I liked how she balanced intelligence and sharp instincts with a real tenderness underneath. At heart, she just wanted a normal life â friendship, connection, and a place to belong â which made her feel very human to me. I really liked Margaret as well for the same reasons,
Definitely Carol for all the stated reasons-but Laura is a close second as she struggles with an annoying partner in a âgood olâ boysâ club.
Those two were the ladies with whom Iâd enjoy spending time.
I liked the variety of characters and how each one played their role. I could visualize Margaret, and not so much Carol.
I also loved all the characters. They each had their own idiosyncrasies, being equally annoying and charming. But my favorite character was Carol. I was rooting for her from the beginning, and she was great until the very end.
I like Margaret a lot but her portrayal sometimes feels inconsistent. She swings from very capable to meek and naive. But I love that she always wanted dessert. Thatâs exactly the old lady Iâm going to be!
PollyâŚnot only did she have the ârecipeâ for writing mysteries (made me laugh out loud), but
unobtrusively sat and knitted while getting âhighââŚshe was a great addition that really was not
at all needed to move the story along.
I liked them all, probably Geoffrey the least (but then werenât we supposed to like him least?). Carolâs diaries were a little bizarre/frightening, but she was still a great character.
Loved Carol. For a serial killer she seemed to be the most sensible, and cool, calm and collected. All of the characters were well crafted and I would really like to see them in a movie soon.
I loved all the quirky characters in this book, but I think that Carol was my favorite. She was inquisitive, smart, and interesting.
Like many others, I liked Carol the best. She was treated very poorly by her so-called âfriendsâ once they discovered her past. Iâm sure thatâs a real problem for people who have served time. Itâs unfair and shows the biases we all have (some much more than others). But I think Carol handled it with poise and grace. I really did not like Geoffrey. Ugh! Reminded me of some old men Iâve known.
The simple hobbyist, Carol, arriving at Sheldon Oaks, straight from prison.
Also, I loved the worry we all share Carol has about being âliked,â though most of us donât worry that it is because new acquaintances have found out our history as a serial killer.
