Which plot twist surprised you the most?
I think I was most surprised that Morgan was NOT spying on Lottie or trying to take advantage of her. And I thought Cropped Hair might be conducting surveillance for someone, but she wasn’t either.
I just followed along through the twists so no surprise.
I think for me it was the very first murder, since it was totally out of the blue.

I agree, I was surprised at the first murder, and then rather expecting she would continue. Yikes, I started to want her to be ok and get away with it.
The last line, when Lottie says she wonders if Cole is too tall and will he fit in her freezer?
That said to me she’s planning another one.
The first murder surprised me and I thought it was a radical defense response. The second murder surprised me more as the reader then knows to expect the worst, that this was going to be a continuous flow of murders.
I was most surprised by Burke’s son showing up at Norma’s hotel room. There hadn’t been any indication that the elder Burke was too frail to come himself. Definitely didn’t see that coming.

I was also really surprised that the detective tried to blackmail her!
The first murder was the biggest shock, especially because of the matter-of-fact way Lottie dealt with it. Based on the cover, I probably shouldn’t have been shocked that she was still killing, but I initially thought it would be about resisting the urge.
I thought there were some good plots twist all throughout the story. The female detective trying to black mail Lottie, Burke’s son involved with Norma, Lottie’s way of eliminating her victims, her friends daughter confronting her, altho that kind of fizzled out without resolve.
The twist that surprised me the most was Burke’s son showing up at Lottie’s motel. The elder Burke was well aware how dangerous Lottie was and with his son backing her into a corner, bad things were bound to happen. I was surprised that the elder Burke did not realize he was sending his son to his death.

My thoughts, too. He had to know the risk his son would encounter.
I was surprised by the suddenness and matter-of-fact treatment of the first murder but it did set the tone for the book. I was also surprised that it was Burke’s on to appear at the motel.
Actually, it was the way Lottie killed and disposed of her victims. 
She was logical, methodical, and meticulous . . . as she was carrying out unthinkable acts! And had perfectly rational reasons for everything she did.
