When Evie disappears, Becca does all she can to find her child. What did you think about the ensuing circumstances? Is there anything different you feel Becca could have done to retrieve Evie?
Under Becca’s circumstances, I think she did all she could to survive and make the best life for her and Evie. She was up against a nasty, nasty person who has money and powers beyond what Becca could do. I kept thinking while reading this, that it would have been different in today’s day and age.
I agree with Jill, I think Becca did what she could do. Sometimes, I feel that I forget how easy it is to find people with the internet and social media.
Mildred was horrible and had the law on her side. Unfortunately she did her homework and made Becca look like a bad mother.
I agree - I think Becca did all she could in light of the time and circumstances. Becca did not have the power or support to successfully deal with Mildred.
I thoroughly agreed Mildred had the money and power, Becca was just able to survive. She needed to find a way to make it better and that took all of her strength. While Mildred had time, money and power.
Before the internet, without funds, and with the circumstances of how Evie was spirited away, I do think Becca did everything possible. As a mother, my heart ached for Becca when she realized Evie was gone.
Becca tried hard to find Evie with Mildred threatening her in every way possible even jail. I think Becca was no match for the evil grandmother. I don’t know what Becca could have done differently. Becca was heart-broken. When Lucy decided to make amends and help Becca get Evie back, it was then Becca was willing to do everything possible to keep Evie safe.
