@Elizabeth I think it’s a play on words/double-meaning sort of thing. The women live in an area of California named “Paradise,” but at the same time they’re looking for paradise. The book is about how they attain contentment - paradise - and so it’s kind of a road map. Maybe.
Thank you - I definitely was confused about the title.
Eva, June and Melanie thought they knew what it was like to have a corner of paradise, but then thought it was only a dream that such a place even existed. The name of the street where they met is a metaphor.
I think most of us spend our lives chasing that map to paradise, although we often cannot articulate exactly what it will look like or where it can be found. Sometimes the map comes disguised and for a long time we don’t realize we are staring right at it. We just need a nudge to place our pin on the map and shout “Eureka”.
I like your comment.
A metaphor, yes. The author created a map for each woman that had twists and turns along with fear. They all seemed to realize their paradise at the end of the story. Really?
Each Women had to find her own road map to paradise. Three different women, three different ways to happiness, three decisions.
For entirely different reasons, the three main characters were brought to Paradise Circle, but the circumstances and commitment to each other enabled them to find their own happiness in the final journey.
