I believe people have the Sight. I don’t know anyone who possesses it as strongly as Emile, but I do think most of us call it intuition. I totally believe the popular people we see on TV do have it like John Edward and Theresa Caputo!

I don’t believe people can predict or “see” the future, especially with enough clarity to try to warn people about upcoming tragedy. Maybe I’m all wet, but it seems like too much woo-woo for my logical brain to digest.

I do find it fascinating! Whether it’s a true gift or intuition it’s been around for generations. Years ago I can remember going to a few psychics and they told me a few things that would happen in the future, and indeed they did. Things that were not predictable and I found it uncanny, to say the least. My husband has learned over the years to listen to my intuition because I’m usually right. lol

My brother and my late mother both possessed an intuition about someone dying. They would get a very strong feeling about someone, even people they hadn’t seen for years, and then find out they’d passed away. Unlike Emilie, they couldn’t see how it happened, they just know something had happened. It was the only “Sight” they had.

I believe some people may have this but I do not know anyone that does.

I have not met anyone personally who had “the Sight”. I feel that we all have intuition and for some it is extra sensitive. People can learn to be more aware of these intuitive feelings. Emilie could not “see the future” but she had dreams and was sensitive to the meaning of those dreams. This is something that I feel we all can learn to tap into.

I have never known anyone who could reliably be called having the “sight”. You do see people in the news like Jeane Dixon and others who claim to predict the future but that was not really what Emilie did. It was like she knew something was happening or about to happen very shortly. I don’t think I find it possible to believe it really exists. Sometimes people have an intuition that something is going to happen.

I believe that some people have the gift of being able to forsee some events. I haven’t met anyone who has that gift, but I would like to!

Not sure how legitimate “the sight” is. I think some people have highly developed intuition but can’t quite believe it to the degree portrayed in the book. I really enjoyed the story but didn’t feel the aspect of “the sight “ was really necessary. The book would have been enjoyable without it.

I’m not sure what the Sight is, but I most definitely believe in it. My mother was born in 1914 and she and her identical twin sister had an uncanny connection and ability to know each other’s thoughts and actions even when separated by large distances. But her “sight” went beyond her twin. She hated it, but she, on several occasions, would see an acquaintance and then tell us afterward that the person was going to pass on soon. And sadly they would! When I was a teenager, my maternal grandmother was hospitalized. About 1/2 hour before the hospital called in the middle of the night to tell us my grandmother had died my mother got us up from bed because the hospital would be calling soon with the news. The most wrenching situation for her occurred when I was in college. We farmed and my dad had left the house to check the fields. About an hour later my mother became suddenly and violently sick to her stomach and felt that something had occurred to my dad. She called her cousins who lived close to the field my dad was going to and asked them to check on my dad as she was afraid he had passed away. When they arrived at the field my father was lying dead in the field and his dog was watching over him. My father died in 1975 and my mother lived another 36 years. Over the years this “ability” diminished, but it never completely left her. My sister and I are both thankful it didn’t pass down to us.
