Watch murder mysteries on Acorn, Britbox or PBS Masterpiece.
Ooooh, I love Britbox, @Elizabeth_H!
I knit, play piano and love mah jongg. I also volunteer weekly for a wildlife rehabilitation entity and serve on 2 such boards.
I am a knitter and love to walk. Go out with friends to lunch and belong to two knitting groups. I also enjoy Britbox, Acorn TV and Masterpiece theatre. My husband enjoys different shows than I do. Sometimes I even do housework and cook. lol
Reading is a big part of my life but when I’m not reading, I am usually gardening! We have no front lawn, just plants, flowers and wild gardens. I enjoy watching all types of sports games…football is my least favorite!
I like to sew, so that is what I do when I am not reading
I am retired and thoroughly enjoying it. I am a paper crafter at heart and whenever possible continue to take art classes, My family says I could open my own craft store with a section just for my books. Yes, like most bookworms, I have a rather large collection of TBRs. I enjoy preparing unique handcrafted holiday cards and favors for a local hospice group It’s a challenge finding new appropriate ones, however, the act of giving back brings me such joy!. I like to travel whenever possible but as my body tells me I am getting older it has become more of a challenge. I also enjoy cooking and have been known to spend hour reading cookbooks from one end to the other, my little collection is a bit over 300 at this time. Enjoy having friends in to try a new recipe or two. Today’s challenge is a new soup and another chapter in the book I am currently reading.
I love PBS mysteries. I don’t indulge in Acorn or Britbox just because those subscriptions stack up.
When not reading, I spend the early morning hours painting in several different media. Acrylic, watercolor, and colored pencils capture my interest by turns, and sometimes in a mixed media project. Then, I move on to volunteering for the retirement community where I live. Even though I swore off meetings when I retired I find myself in nearly as many meetings as ever I attended before. The siren call of mysteries on PBS fills some of my time, too. Walking, exercise classes and a round with personal training are helping me to get outdoors and out of the chair.
Avid hiker, backpacker, and downhill skier here until my knees gave out in my seventies. Now spend my time walking on trails and city sidewalks on Vancouver Island. My treat is season subscriptions to Pacific Opera and the Victoria Symphony, as well as smaller theatre companies.
After taking a few art classes, I discovered in my 70s I loved working with watercolors. I’ll never be proficient at it, but it makes me appreciate what others can do with clay and paint so I regularly visit galleries and art studios.
I’ve been an eager traveler for half a century and a voracious reader for seven decades but now do my traveling mainly through books. After decades spent in classrooms and academic meetings, organized events and group activities make me antsy so I avoid them whenever possible. Fortunately, I married a very understanding man!
