What classic book(s) generally assigned in middle school or high school have you somehow never read?

I’m not sure why, but although I was constantly reading when I was growing up, I almost never did the assigned reading. There are a whole bunch of books I think most of the world has read that I haven’t. The ones I can think of are:

  • the Little House on the Prairie series
  • the Anne of Green Gables series
  • Catcher in the Rye (which I hope to remedy here this week!)
  • Lord of the Flies
  • Anything by Jack London
  • Old Yeller

… probably others!

I was your opposite @kim.kovacs. Not only did I eagerly devour every assigned literature assignment I was usually the first one to finish. I think I faked Moby Dick for an intense summer session at college. That syllabus had a whole bunch of biggies and I made it through all but one.
