What book or books are you reading this week? (01/30/2025)

I recently read The Swans of Harlem and really enjoyed it. Also loved Night Flyer by Tiya Miles.

Sadly I just dnf’d Dream Count by Adichie

My Feb list of possibles includes:
The Barn (thompson)
Legacy (blackstock)
Black in Blues (perry)
Half American (delmont)
Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments ( hartman)
All About Love (hooks)
My Government Means to Kill Me (newson)
A Girls Stands at the Door (devlin)
Madness (hylton)
Disillusioned (herold)

For a classic that is super relevant I would recommend The Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler.

I know my pile is way too ambitious and some of them are quite large but I have choices. I hope to get to Good Dirt at some point also.

Thank you so much for sharing your list! I just took a screenshot of it for Feb and the remainder of the year. There are quite a few I would like to read. Disappointed to hear about Dreamcount. I loved her book We Should All Be Feminists and then the follow-up book. Thank you again.

Thank you so much for your recommendations. It just so happens I have both those books sitting on shelves waiting to be read. I need Feb to be longer than 28 days. Kidding! I am compiling a list for the year. I love to read and learn.

@kim.kovacs I can’t even describe how much I appreciated Love Songs of W.E.B. DuBois. It’s one of the few books that lives on my keeper shelf.
