What are you reading this week? (5/29/2025)

What are you reading this week? Please share! We’d love to know.

I just finished Siphiwe Gloria Ndlovu’s third book, The Quality of Mercy, in prep for her appearance here next week. I wish I’d had time to read her first two, as there’s quite a bit of crossover between them. New favorite author (and I’m not just saying that because she’s coming for a chat). I’m almost finished with The Lamplighter’s Bookshop, and then it’ll be off to Wild Dark Shore (which I picked up thanks to y’all here).

In audiobook format, I finished book 1 of Stephanie Dray’s Daughter of Cleopatra series and rolled right into book 2. It’s really well-done historical fiction. Looking forward to speaking with her in a couple of weeks as well.

Almost done with The Winter Soldier for a Monday book club. Next reading My Friends by Fredrik Backman one of my favorite authors. Also looking forward to being in the bookclub for The Ghostwriter today! A book I enjoyed.

Discussed When the Jessamine Grows by Donna Everhart at my book club meeting earlier this week. Historical fiction seems be all but 1-2 members favorite genre so it was a popular choice.

Still reading Calling Me Home by Julie Kibler and listening to The 1619 Project. It’s almost 19 hours so I’ll be listening for quite awhile.

Just finished Black Buck. A good read. Was a littke slow at first but ended with a bang.
Would make a good book club read.

Wild, Dark Shore. I’m following all the recommendations.

Reading a book by Beatriz Williams “Husbands & Lovers” which is good as far as I have gotten into the book. Looking forward to the release of Wally Lamb’s new book to be published this month.
