Were you surprised by the murderer’s identity?
Actually, I was surprised. I try to get “lost” in my books and not spend a whole lot of time trying to figure out “whodunit”. I don’t always succeed in doing that 
and, while I was able to not try to figure out “whodunit”, I didn’t see that one coming.

I was not surprised but there wasn’t much tension built up throughout the book to lead to a surprise either.

The neighbors were suspicious. Of all of them I leaned toward Janet who seemed full of rage.
I wouldn’t say surprised I’d say it was a comfortable conclusion.

I wasn’t all that surprised by the murderer’s identity, but I hadn’t thought of the reason behind the murder
I don’t know if I was particularly surprised because there were a number of suspicious neighbors. It actually was a fairly satisfying reveal- a bit banal but in keeping with the tone of the story.
I was hugely surprised which is not a surprise! I am horrible at solving whodunits, but enjoy them nonetheless.
I was surprised but by that time I was just so over all the rabbit holes that finding out the murderer’s identity was anticlimactic.

Actually, but the time the murderer was revealed I had convinced myself it was an accident after all!
I agree with Kim K - by the end of the book, I thought maybe it was an accident, but the author had taken us for an enjoyable ride. So it was a “twist” for me to discover there was an actual murderer!
I so agreed with both you and Kim. By the time the book ended was ready for it to be just an accident after all. I felt as if I had been on a joy ride with no real reason for her sudden death. And I guess if we need to pin it on someone why not the noise neighbor especially one with police history. Perfect choice!
No. I thought that man was weird from the beginning of the story. Ditto his wife.
