Walter, Devlin, and Gabrielle are all isolated at the beginning. How does their unlikely friendship transform each of them?

Each of them are able to move forward in their own ways. I think all three of them are able to find personal strength, healing, and meaning in their own ways.

All three of them have had problems with relationships. Now they have found each other and are working hard to find out the story of the violin. They all have this in common and are working together and becoming close.

I think the three were very isolated and lived such sad lives. The violin awaken something in each of them. The music, the quest to find the owner, and the fact that they were being chased by some “gang’“ didn’tmake them so afraid they wanted to quit or hid, but find out more! Life got more interesting!

I think their friendship does bring strength, growth, and happiness to each of them. It gives them not only something in common, but a developing bond with one another’s lives due to their contact with the violin.

I believe all three characters have chosen isolation rather than being hurt. Opening up and allowing others in is difficult, but through their efforts to identify the origin of the violin they realize how human connections have enriched their lives.

I loved that they formed a special, yet unconventional friendship. It shows that you can find someone who you connect with in unique situations. You can be transformed by interacting with people who aren’t exactly like you.

I feel like working together and depending on each other brought their walls down, and they realized it was good thing to have other people in your life who care for you and you can care for them.

Each had been living a solitary life with few friends and little interaction with others. Working together on the violin problem provided each of them with a path for growth and friendship. They were forced to engage and rely on one another.

I have read that the most important thing abot growing older is social connections. I have tried to stay connected to friends and family with text, email, and yes, even phone calls! we have not family nearby so we make and effort to keep in touch. And mean it…. In the story, all the main characters were isolated. It seemed like their social skills were poor because they often misinterpreted the words and actions of others. I think it was lack of practice!

Each of them had been living alone with their secrets, but the violin has brought them together (in a rather odd way) so that they find it really is better to share their lives, and eventually those secrets, with others.

Instead of being isolated, they become friends and help each other move forward in their lives

They all seem to find something in each other that they find lacking in themselves. They needed each other to solve the mystery of the violin but also needed each other to become more of who they truly were.
