I’ve preordered Whistler from Parnassus Books so I could have an autographed copy. I’m an Elizabeth Strout fan, too, so her upcoming release will be on my reading list, too.

I read an ARC of The Half Life by Rachel Beanland and really enjoyed it. It is scheduled to be released on July 14. I think it is a good model of the new generation of historical fiction novels - a trend away from WW II stories. Rachel Beanland’s newest work is set during the Vietnam War and the era of nuclear subs. Simon and Schuster describes it as: “…a novel set on a remote Italian island about a navy wife’s reckoning with power, love, and the price of staying silent in the Atomic Age.”
