The Society of Authors (SoA) has launched a scheme to help identify works written by humans in a market increasingly flooded by AI-generated books.
The scheme is the first of its kind launched by a UK trade association, and allows authors to register their books and download a “Human Authored” logo to display on their back cover.
Has anyone besides me taken one of those tests where a block of text is displayed and you choose whether it was written by a human or AI? I have, and I’m sorry to say my ability to distinguish between the two sits at about 50%. Granted, it’s not a whole book, and I’d like to think after awhile I’d know, but it sure would help to be alerted up front.
