"To rebel is unjustified. Purge bourgeois thinking, destroy the 4 olds: ideas, custom, havits and culture. Work hard . Work harder." This is might be a reflection of America today. How does this story give us a warning to rise above the noise?

@Lil_C Hi Lil - Great quote. I definitely think the first part of that resonates: “To rebel is unjustified.” Anyone who criticizes the government today - in any way - is seen as the enemy. And I agree there’s a huge attempt to rewrite history so that the contributions of anyone other than white men are minimized, if not erased entirely.

I think, though, that “bourgeois thinking” is kind of the point. The promise is that the direction the country is taking will increase consumerism. And it’s not that we don’t want to return to our old customs etc. In fact, I think it’s just the opposite. The push is to return to an older America to a time when white males were all that mattered. It’s a return to a fabricated history, one viewed only through a specific lens,

I’m curious about your take on the quote.

Well said! I totally agree anyone who criticizes the current government is seen an the enemy. We need to stand strong and keep involved.
