Not that anyone here needs another reading challenge or a way to add books to their TBR mountain, but I found this challenge a fascinating concept. I may try to take it on (realistically, I don’t know how, because 26 books is about 20% of my annual reading) because it would certainly add to my understanding of American history.
I thought I’d read a lot of American history and historical fiction since they’re my two favorite genres, but I read only four, also! A good list to add to my TBR.
I just finished The House is On Fire, a very compelling historical fiction read about the injustice of slavery and society in Richmond VA in the early 1800’s.
I have already read and loved the Frozen River, and also the book about Edgar Allen Poe, which is what you would expect when reading about him.
I’ve read 5 on list and probably have 5-6 others on my TBR. I may try to get some of these read, but I’m sure I won’t get to them all. Interesting challenge—thanks for sharing, Kim.
I have only read The Personal Librarian and Atmosphere but have at least one more on my TBR. Enjoy history but US history has never been an area of focus.
