Overall, what did you think of The World’s Greatest Detective and Her Just Okay Assistant? (No spoilers, please!)

I thought it was a very entertaining mystery with much more depth than I expected. It had the feel of a classic detective story while also exploring themes of insecurity, loneliness, sexism, and family roles. I found it engaging and intelligent without becoming overly heavy or dark.

I thought it was “just okay.” I had a hard time really liking either main character. The detective was too harsh and her assistant was too weak. An easy read, but I wouldn’t read it again.

I rated it average. I liked Blunt and Merritt and the story was decent, but for me, it wasn’t catchy enough. A beach read, kind of cosy mystery.

Stepping out of your comfortable, uneventful life & trying something new. This is why I liked this book. Liza Tully’s characters are quirky & unsure of their fit with each other. I look forward to her next book in the series & the continued interaction & between her main characters.

I am so grateful that it finally arrived in my mail last week. I spent the weekend reading this delightful easy to read mystery. It was just what I needed after having read several very heavy novels. I like to think it provide me with an escape from the daily depressing news lines. Really enjoyed the banter between to the two main characters and look forward to perhaps it becoming a series.

I really enjoyed the story, from the beginning to end. I gave it a solid 10/10 rating. It is very well written, easy to read, and enough plot twists and red herrings to keep it interesting and to keep us on our toes.
