Overall, what did you think of The Seven O’Clock Club? (No spoilers in this thread, please!)

Absolutely enjoyed this book. it had a unique and unusual twists that I never saw coming. I was impressed the author told the story with only five characters who kept the story moving without getting bogged down into deep morose. I was a bit of skeptic about reading this book when I selected it, but I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for something different, thought provoking and that’s easy to follow.

I loved this book and have already highly recommended it to my sisters and friends. It’s wholly original and the characters extremely engaging. The storyline is intriguing and interesting with many unexpected twists and turns. I found it very enlightening and thought provoking. 5 starts all the way!

Up until the last 100 pages this was mostly a romance story, ugh. It was not a story of ‘flesh and blood” people seeking serious insights from a grief group (the seven o’clock club) that I was hoping for. Then suddenly the reader, and the characters, are presented with a new dimension to the story which made me say “Whaaaat!” I was hoping the many possibilities that this new path might offer would turn things around. But honestly, there was nothing revealed that reached for the stars or some earth-shaking new idea. Sorry, can’t give examples without giving spoilers here. I think this book just lacked a fleshed-out originality and wasn’t a hit for me.

I thought the book was okay. I liked hearing all of the characters stories. I also liked that they really began to care about each other. I was surprised to find out why they were all selected for this group, and surprised by the ending.

This book was not for me. The character development was shallow. I never really cared about any of the characters. The plot became ridiculous and off putting in the middle of the book.. I got there and thought- are you kidding me? did the author just run out of ideas? I recently watched a video wherein it was discussed- what makes the character development and the story lines of The Pitt absolutely awesome? (Which I agree, they are.) That TV series and that video are examples about how to build characters and plots that are very engaging.

I enjoyed this book from the 1st page to the last page!! I hope there is a sequel! There were moments in the book where I could see this book being made into a movie and I mean this in a positive way.

I really enjoyed reading about the different characters and their lives. There didn’t seem to be anything very special about the grief recovery group - it seemed like typical group therapy. The plot does twist at the end, but I didn’t like it. That ruined the book for me.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the book. In the beginning I had my doubts as I didn’t connect with any of the characters and found the emerging romance story line irritating. The “surprise” twist actually pulled it out of the fire for me as it launched the story into a more universal and metaphysical plane. I even liked the ending. Even though it was a “tie it in a bow” kind of thing I appreciated the book ending on a positive note

I actually loved this book for many reasons. Subject matter…oh so good! Once during reading this book, I asked an important question (book’s ending) but Ms. Ireland did a great job of convincing me…oh no that can’t be true!!:face_with_hand_over_mouth:. Character development..to see Freya grow so much; to see Callium be willing to fall in love; Mischa goes from insecurity to having confidence; Victoria go from knowing all the answers to cooperation and a little humble pie and Genevieve…oops no spoilers!!

It is wonderful book encapsulating real and just enough fantasy to grab your attention! I am definitely recommending this to my bookclub! Right now for 2026, this is my IT book!

I really enjoyed the book until….!! I was really taken aback by the twist in the story. I did stick with it to see how it turned out and the ending made me smile, I’m just not sure about the twist!

I thought the book was quite original, and the Audible version was a nice complement to the book as the readers’ British accents and narration made it seem like you were in their inner circle.

I, too, listened to the Audible as I read the book. The audio was a nice addition.

I enjoyed the book overall. At first I thought it was a little slow to develop or maybe predictable. However, once the characters developed I was hooked and throughly enjoyed the book.

Very original story which dragged at times but overall was worth reading.

I really enjoyed this book and felt a genuine connection with the characters, even though I never quite understood what made them particularly special as a group. The plot twist genuinely surprised me, and I liked that—it kept me engaged and curious about where the story was going. I’m a little unsure about the ending. It felt somewhat neatly wrapped up, though it didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the book overall
