Overall, I was lukewarm about the book. The characters were relatable, mostly likeable, and I enjoyed learning about their individual secrets as the book unfolded. I really appreciated the heartwarming relationships that evolved between the characters. However, I also thought the story was a little slow and aspects of the book (no spoilers) resulted in it not being as engaging to me as other reads. Still, I would recommend the book for those looking for a quick, feel-good cozy mystery.

I had read other reviews of The Busybody Book Club and it genuinely sounded like a book that I would be interested in reading, enough so to write a review. So, I requested and did receive a copy of this book, but could not for the life of me develop an interest in the characters or the way in which the story was constructed.

I enjoyed very much. I loved the quirky members of the bookclub. I enjoyed Agatha Christi books being mentioned. I thought it was fast moving with plenty of twists and turns,
A fun read

Have you read any of her other books?

They are enjoyable as well especially The Lost Ticket even though it is heart wrenching at times.

You are welcome.

I think you will like them. Others are The Last Chance Library and Nosy Neighbors.

I agree that the book started slowly, but I often think that mysteries that are more “cozy,” like this book is, have certain parts of the story where the pacing is slow. I did warm up to all the characters, though, and I was pleasantly surprised when I got past the midpoint and I found myself lost in the story and rapidly turning pages. To me, that’s the sign of a good story.

I didn’t think it was as good as some of the other multiple sleuth (each with a different story/problem) mysteries I have read. I found the story a little slow and the characters a little predictable.

I loved this book. I am a sucker for good character development of a quirky cast of characters, and this book fit the bill. I especially enjoyed the relationships within the book club. The story was not without its side plots, which added to some confusion at the end (no spoiler). I liked Phyllis’s character and her love of Agatha Christie. I would definitely read more books with these characters.

I loved the book! I plodded along in the first few chapters but once the plot thickened and all the characters were involved I couldn’t put the book down. I laughed out loud several times at the outrageous things Phyllis said and did!

I enjoyed the book…I enjoy any book that talks about books so this fit the bill. It had fun, quirky characters and enough plot twists and surprises to keep me interested.

I thought it was absolutely adorable. I didn’t find it slow at all. I loved the depth of all the characters and the cute little twists on every corner. This was my first Freya Sampson book, but I’ll be looking at others when I have time.

I found the book mostly frustrating. It moved slowly and the characters were so judgmental, It felt like a bad Hallmark movie!

It took me a bit to warm to the story, but once I got to know the characters, I enjoyed it. I loved reading about the developing relationships. Nova’s relationship, on the other hand, drove me nuts.

I really enjoyed the book. It was totally different from things I usually read and the characters were diverse and just made me laugh. It was fun and read quickly.

Found it to be a very enjoyable book. There was enough drama together with delightful characters who grow into a small family.

I enjoyed the book, but it did take a little time to get into it. I found the main character a little frustrating, with her continued efforts to solve the ever-growing list of challenges. But I suppose that’s what makes it entertaining in the end. Phyllis was a fun character.

This sounded completely up my alley, British mystery. After reading a few chapters i found myself not at all interested. I liked the characters and sympathized with them but I fealt the story was a hodge podge of other mysteries thrown together. Not sure i would read this author again.
