I enjoyed the setting as it was familiar. The plot might have been a bit farfetched…but maybe not!

I enjoyed the book as well as its setting. I had been reading The Sympathizer for a book group so it was nice to have a book that I could simply enjoy.

I thought it was great. Loved the twists and turns. Really liked the characters. I needed a book that wasn’t too heavy but that had depth and this fit the bill.

I liked the book. It was a good mystery, a fast read and I enjoyed Morgan. It was interesting that she is a cryptozoologist!

I really disliked this book. It started out well but then it just got silly. I also did not realize it was part of a series

I enjoyed the book overall. Some of the writing had me cringing a little and there was so much of the main character saying or alluding to things like little did I know that it took me out of the story. I liked that it was a quick read that I didn’t have to take too seriously and I felt the book overall was satisfying.

This was so out of my usual reading! I enjoyed it as a quick read and appreciated being introduced to eDNA and the world of a cryptozoologist. I had no idea that the festival and monuments in Wisconsin existed dedicated to hodags!

I got that book as a freebie from Bookbrowse because I had read the Door County set book she wrote previously. I enjoy a light mystery once in a while and this fit the bill. Her books are funny and have lots of interesting characters and I love the main character Morgan. I grew up in Wisconsin and love a snowy winter setting. There is nothing in these book that will disturb my sleep or give me nightmares. There will always be room for an Annelise Ryan book on my shelf. shelf.

I was very happy that I was able to read The Beast of the North Woods through BookBrowse. I did not have any idea beforehand what the book would be like, but I was pleased to find it was a creepy, cozy mystery.

I liked it - in fact got another one of the series to read because I enjoyed it.

I do wish I’d read the other two books in the series first (and I’ll probably pick them up at some point). I think I would have enjoyed this one more if I’d been familiar with Morgan’s backstory.

I enjoyed reading the book because the story was different. It wasn’t the usual mystery.

The premise and plot line came across fairly well. My principal issue was with the POV being Morgan. I believe she was meant to be in her late 20s/early 30s, but she came across as a middle-aged woman, I guess around the age of the author’.

I by accident requested this book for a second time. I originally read it just about one year ago. I just assumed when I saw this book that it was another book in the series, but it was the same book. Therefore I will not be adding my opinion within these questions. I have already done that a year ago.

I will say I liked this book and intend on reading the first two of this series - since this is the third book. I gave it a rating of 4 stars out of 5. I thought it was an enjoyable read, enough so that I will eventually read books one and two. Thanks

I have a type of book I like. I frequently come home from the library with books I have read.

It took me a while to get into the book but then I enjoyed it.

I had never heard of Hodags before and knew nothing about eDNA, so I learned something. The book is an easy read to be enjoyed.
