Morgan makes it clear to Rita and Roger that she’s skeptical of Andy’s story, yet she agrees to investigate. Why do you suppose this is? And later, when she reminds them, they become angry about her doubt. Do you think this was a fair response on their part?
I think Morgan agreed to help because of her love and respect for Rita. Emotions were high; so I think it was expected that Rita and Roger would be upset that she thought Andy might be responsible. I think Morgan understood that Rita wouldn’t lie to her or ask her to investigate unless Rita truly believed her nephew was innocent.
Cheryl_R, I think this is really well-stated. There was a lot of emotions and desire to believe Andy, while Morgan did not have that direct personal connection.
And after all, Morgan is a cryptologist so has interest in these critters and accounts of their sightings.
I think it was out of love for her friends. I am a nurse. If a friend need me I am there. Morgan had friends who needed her skills.
Yes…both Rita and Roger were biased toward Andy. They want ti believe in Andy’s innocence. Morgan, on the other hand, approached this situation using more of a scientific approach by gathering the facts before assigning guilt or blame to Andy.
