I think Lottie would have been caught.

She could have asked her to NOT do the docuseries - a much better option in my opinion. :slight_smile: I’m sure Lottie could have come up with some reason not to do it and not incriminate herself.

I agree with @Elizabeth. She should have tried explaining to Plum that the series had too many inconsistencies and would destroy lives of the families involved.

I think if the docuseries had been done without Lottie’s contribution, it would never have become a documentary that more than 3 people viewed. There was no new news if Lottie didn’t talk, and she clearly wasn’t going to. Also, I would have liked to see Plum’s character be built a bit better and stronger. First off, if she was in touch with Burke, she wouldn’t have come across as ditzy and superficial as she appeared to be or as on Lottie’s side. And I think the aquamarine eyes and long, natural lashes represent a more physical description of Plum. Plum was a determined go-getter. She felt she was creating justice through her docuseries. If she had been made to be a stronger character, it would have created more emotion in her murder, and it would have been more realistic because she had been warped by Burke, she was determined, and she was determined. I’d have liked to see more of this fleshed out before Plum was murdered so that we felt her murder more as readers.

I suppose Lottie could have filed a massive lawsuit against Plum that would tie up production for years or forever. Plum was firm that she would proceed with or without Lottie.

At times Lottie seemingly reacted like a cornered animal. She struck when she felt her life/style was being attacked. Then her recovering feral mind slipped into a bizarre survival mode using past experiences and methods.

An in-person interview with Lottie was key to the success of the docuseries. It would have been a dud without her. It definitely would have impacted Lottie’s life. Doubt if the church ladies would have remained loyal! But murdering Plum? Well, I guess that is what serial killers do.
