Looking for help finding books similar to my not-yet published Alaskan mythical thriller

I’m looking for published books to use as “comparison” titles when seeking representation. My elevator pitch is: When a city-raised oil executive is thrust into a terrifying bear hunt in Alaska, a string of chilling animal encounters straight out of Alaskan mythology collide with his world view and threaten his life. The Kodiak Promotion. It is speculative in that it is set in contemporary Alaska, but goes outside the lines of reality when human-to-bear shapeshifters intervene. The closest book I know of is Garth Stein’s Raven Stole the Moon.

How about Dan Simmons The Terror? It’s not contemporary but the mythical menace element sounds like it might fit.

Thanks. I’ll check this out.

@Randal_Brutsche i just started reading The Beast of the North Woods by Annalise Ryan. The killer appears to be a mythical beast called a hodag. It might be a good fit for your comparison, especially since it’s a current novel (comes out in January, I think).

I was debating suggesting that but I feel like the tone is likely very different. Good idea though.
