If you were making a movie of Aphrodite in Pieces, who would you cast as the leads?

This is so hard. Aphrodite is almost impossible since no one can live up to the beauty standard she’s held to. Anyone cast in that role would be subject to so much cruelty from all the internet trolls. Here’s a few ideas:

  • Aphrodite - Charlize Theron
  • Ares - Cole Hauser
  • Zeus - Jeffrey Dean Morgan
  • Poseidon - Daveed Diggs
  • Hermes - Harry Styles
  • Apollo - Tom Hiddleston
  • Hera - Viola Davis
  • Athena - Tessa Thompson
  • Eros - Connor Storie
  • Helen - Zendaya
  • The Graces - Ariana Grande, Elle Fanning, and one of the KPop Demon Hunters :slight_smile:

Jason Mamoa as Hephaestus. I can see him in a cave forging metal! I will have to come back to this question.

I am not a current follower of movies, but if I could cast the dead as well as the living I would think :slight_smile:

Aphrodite Elizabeth Taylor or Marilyn Monroe

Ares Viggo Mortenson

Hephaestus Sylvester Stallone

Athena Glenn Close

Zeus Richard Burton

More modern maybe Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron as Ares and Aphrodite.

For Aphrodite today I would cast the beautiful Logan Browning . If I were casting Aphrodite from days gone by, Hedy Lamarr would be at the top of my list. Others from the past that I think would have made a wonderful Aphrodite would be Jane Seymour, Bridget Bardot, Raquel Welch, or Sophia Loren.

Last night at dinner with family it was hard to come up with a current “star” to play Aphrodite. In the end we all picked Heidi Klum. She looks like a temptress who can also have fun. But, we all had stars from the past who would probably a better pick!

I’m terrible when it comes to questions like this because frankly, I don’t stay in touch with Hollywood much. I’d go with Blake Lively as Aphrodite; Helen could be Emma Stone. I think Tom Hiddleston as Apollo (agree with that). I’d go for Ryan Reynolds as Hermes. I like the idea of Denzel Washington as Zeus with Viola Davis as Hera (agree with that). I’d go with Ralph Fienes as Hades. But now I’m out of ideas.
