Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. While the genre, sci-fi, would get each of them out of their comfort zone - a good thing! (except for perhaps Ash who has some exposure to the genre), it is a novel I have found that appeals to a very diverse audience, including previous sci-fi dodgers. It is a feel good story of adventure and unlikely friendships told with positivity and humor - what is not to like.

For similar reasons, plus I think Ash especially would find beauty in the series of Monk & Robot by Becky Chambers, I would gift each of them copies of A Psalm for the Wild Built and A Prayer for the Crown-Shy. (Note: Despite the titles these are not religious books by any means, at least in the traditional sense. Thoughtful and spiritual in a science way perhaps.)

Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton. This book made such an impression on me this year. So did Geraldine Brooks’ Memorial Days. Both are nonfiction, beautifully written and moving stories. I think each member of that bookclub would relate in some way to these books. For a lighter, but no less poignant read, I’d suggest Remarkably Bright Creatures.

I’d recommend a Kristin Hannah book. Maybe The Nightingale.

I’d suggest the Thursday Murder Club so they can up their game in investigating.

The Murderess by Laurie Nataro.

I recently read Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister. I think it would be a good mystery thriller book for discussion.

Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie.
I think Phyllis would be happy about that since she likes Agatha Christie

Ooh, Project Hail Mary is on my list to read. Now I’m even more excited to!

@Robyn_V you definitely should bump up Project Hail Mary. It’s a fun read for sure.
