No I don’t think so. I think that would have been the line that would have not been able to be uncrossed. I think Elena would never be able to look at Tom the same way.
Very unlikely, although when Elena was in Spain and the next chapter was titled, “Mentor”, I thought oh-no; she’s going to fall in love with someone. Would she have sown her oats? If so, how would Tom react? Forgiving? Well, since that didn’t happen, they both stayed true to one another.

I doubt it, he would probably become embroiled in a new relationship to the detriment of his marriage to Elena, I doubt Elena, in those circumstances would have cut him any slack
No, not in my opinion. This was an inexplicable choice for a man with what appeared to be a solid, loving marriage.
No as I already mentioned been there. After my husband had two affairs I was done! I had two boys to raise, a full time job and good friends. I think at that point Elena would not have let him come back.
I definitely agree with all the No answers. There is a big difference between having casual sex and making love to the person you love.

Absolutely not! Elena would see that as the final straw and Tom would be forever guilt ridden.
Probably not, but cheating and leaving are not always about sex. He hurt Elana in a very fundamental way and let’s face it..he had every intention of sowing those oats.

I agree, Helen. He did try to cheat, and he had every intention of going through with it, but his body had other ideas. And no to redeeming himself if he had successfully cheated physically. I doubt he told Eleana about his little “date’ that went wrong, it may have been a whole different situation if he had.
Would have taken a BIG woman to look the other way and take him back!
I don’t think he could ever have redeemed himself if he cheated. That would have been the end for Elena and me. What if the woman was older and never had the reset?. How many marriages would have lasted then?
