How does the novel exemplify ‘life carries on’ (last words on page 3)? Do you have any examples?
The fact that the “the second sight” was passed from the aunt to the girls as well as their father is one example of “life carries on”. Life carries on when we remember past family adventures, recipes and traditions. It is a comfort, in my opinion, that memories support us later in life. In this book, the girls remember their past experiences.
Another thought is “life carries on” when it is not uncommon to have people throughout history continue to make life better by fighting in a war or making discoveries in medicine.
