How do you feel Star’s return helped Emilie recover from the traumatic events surrounding Rose’s birth?
Star truly saved Emilie. The horse had been her soulmate and was horribly stolen from her. Star’s return was like a miracle when she really needed one.
Emilie had saved Star from the careless abuse of people and now Star was saving her from the same. It was a beautiful moment.

Star was her first “baby.” When the horse returned I think she felt she had a purpose in life. I think Emilie was very afraid of having Rose in her life because she might treat her the way her mother treated her. Star had unconditional love for Emile and that is what she needed.
She loved Star and had bought her with the gold piece her friend had given her for when she found the right horse. Star was special, she was the right horse. It was horrible when she was stolen from her. Having her back changed her life. Animals are important to people who care for them and love them.

When you lose something that is meaningful and precious to you it feels like a part of you is missing. To have Star back was having the missing piece returned, literally.
I agree with the others in the discussion that Star was a missing piece of her soul. She was like a lost child. Having to take care of Star again gave her purpose at a challenging time.
