Hello! I’ve known about BookBrowse for years, but decided recently to become a member after frustrations with the large corporate-owned book service I’ve been using for many years (you probably know who I mean!).
One question I have is if I’m able to take my reading list from that platform and upload it to this one?
I’m excited to engage with real readers and learn more about books that are not overly hyped, not monetarily sponsored, and do engage and challenge the reader.
Hi Lisa, I can’t answer the question about your reading list and platforms, but Kim likely can/will.
I truly enjoy the interactions among BB members. We share recommendations as well as opinions, questions, and good discussions. No corporate influences, but rather info from real people, avid readers, and a caring community. Welcome!
I like historical fiction and mysteries the most, but enjoy most (non-sci-fi) fiction. I like reading nonfiction with my book club because it pushes me out of my comfort zone!
Hi Lisa, and welcome! As you can probably see, we’re a pretty chatty bunch. I think the group should come with a warning: it WILL increase your TBR pile!
Regarding your question, unfortunately, our members don’t have the ability to import their reading lists into BookBrowse. If you can export your file in comma-delimited format (CSV), however, we’ll be happy to import it into your account for you. Hope that helps! I’m at kim.kovacs@bookbrowse.com, or cs@bookbrowse.com - sending the file to either address will get it to me.
“Live” face to face clubs had a way of selecting books that challenged my comfort zone, too. Years ago a very small group of five of us dove deep into a topic, read both fiction and nonfiction before meeting to discuss threads. For example, one topic was utopian societies. I so enjoyed this group’s intensity before I moved away.
