Have you read the author’s previous book, The Memory Library? If so, how do you think the two compare? What elements of the author’s style did you find appeared in both novels?
I haven’t read The Memory Library yet but found that I already had the book on my TBR list. The Memory Library might be a good book to read between now and the end of 2025.
Yes, I had already read “The Memory Library” and liked it even more than “The Forgotten Book Club”. I thought both were great reads! I loved the way the author referred to other books, both past and recent, within both books. With this second book, I decided to keep track of the books she mentioned - some of which I have read, but certainly not all. If I ever am looking for a book to read, maybe I will pick up one of those. I decided I need to do this when the first book comes back to me after circulating through my group of friends! I also thought the emotional aspects of both books were similar, with a touching outlook of accepting differences within one another.
I read both adn thought the characters were much more delevoped in the Memory Library. I liked the how the characters interacted with the daughter from Austrialia( Forget her name)… I did wonder about this silent book club. How did they know about Grace after Harry died, but didn’t reach out to her? And I guess I don’t get a book club where everyone reads their own book and not share or make what- a book reprot??
I read both and I much preferred the Memory Library. I thought the characters were less one dimensional, more realistic and the story much better
I have not Read Memory Lane but after reading The Forgotten Book Club I’m putting Memory Lane on my TBR list. For some crazy reason I seem to enjoy books about bookclubs or anything books.
Yes, I have read THE MEMORY LIBRARY and liked it. That was the reason I requested this book. I was disappointed in this book. I thought it got off to a very slow start and really didn’t have much of a plot until half way through. If I had not been reading this book for BookBrowse, I likely would have put it aside after 75 or so pages.
I haven’t read The Memory Library but I enjoyed this author’s writing so I ordered it and its in my tbr stack!
