Have you read Michelle Collins Anderson’s first novel, The Flower Sisters? If so, how do the two books compare?

That is great information I have been missing out. See youthere

I just finished The Flower Sisters last night, and I can’t believe it was the author’s debut. It’s really good, and if you enjoyed The Moonshine Women I think you’ll love The Flower Sisters.

I have not read it but it is definitely on my list of future reads!

I have not but have added it to my TBR.

I totally loved The Flower Sisters. I am familiar with the western Ozarks. I was there in the 70’s before it became a huge tourist attraction.
My ex is from Joplin and our family actually lived there in the early 80’s. At the time Silver Dollar City was very quaint and peaceful.
The Moonshine Women is on my TBR list.

No, but you have encouraged me to read it. I did see it focuses on small time life approx. 50 yrs ago. It seems Possum Flats could have moonshine.

I did read the Flower Sisters and really enjoyed it, but as someone said, it wa s a very different book. It was a good story, too, but more philosophical. I keep a collection of book quotes that have spoken to me; this one is from the Flower Sisters: “Life can and will go on without me. Painful and gorgeous. Breathtaking and gut-wrenching. Messy and mundane. You must excuse me now. Love is calling me home.”
