Have you read any of Evie Woods’ previous novels, and if so, how do they compare to The Violin Maker’s Secret?
I have not read any of her previous books, but I do have them in my Kindle. I am excited to read more of her.
Yes, I read The Lost Bookshop, which was equally good. I hope she continues to produce more historical novels!
I’ve read all of them (for discussions here at BookBrowse) and this one was my favorite to date. (Might have something to do with the fact that I was a violinist in another lifetime!)
I have only read The Mysterious Bakery on Rue de Paris. I liked that a little better than The Violin Maker’s Secret. Maybe I can just relate more to bakeries than to the musical world! But I enjoyed both and have passed them on to friends. I really do want to read more of her books!
This was my first novel by the author. I enjoyed the book. I couldn’t decide if I felt the violin’s personification was necessary. For me, the plot would have been fine without that element.
I have read The Lost Bookshop. I enjoyed that one but found this one a bit more enjoyable because of the music aspect. I play the cello and enjoyed the history of the violin and reading about the different owners that played it.
I have read and was in a bookclub for The Lost Bookshop. I enjoyed both books. I can say now I am an Evie Woods fan. I will be reading her other two book and whatever else she writes.
I have read the lost Book Bokkshop and The Story Collector. I would like to read The Mysterious Bakery on Rue de Paris. I enjoyed the first two books, but I had a little trouble getting into this book. I think the “voice”of the violin threw me off. But then I enjoyed it once I understood. ( Started late night reading??)
This was my first one. The jury is still out on whether I will proactively read another one since my “to read” list is extremely long. However if I happen to find a used copy of The Mysterious Bakery on Rue de Paris at the library’s used book sale I will buy it and read it. ![]()
I have loved her other novels. I think this one ranks up there with the other 2 that I have read.
