Have you ever visited the English seaside? Did you enjoy the setting of St. Tredock in Cornwall?
One of many things I enjoyed about this book was it being set in Cornwall. It was lovely being transported back both by the descriptions of the countryside and by the quirky characters. Having visited Cornwall several times, it was not surprising that Nova often found things hard to understand. The subtle regional differences of the area were well written.
One of the reasons I read the book was the location–I love England and setting Busybody Book Club in Cornwall mirrored Nova’s isolation from others.
I have never been there, but this book makes me want to go! I did enjoy the setting of St. Tredock. I felt Freya Samson helped me picture how it would be.
I have never been to the English seaside. The setting made me want to visit that area of England.
I have never been to the English seaside but enjoyed the setting in the story very much.
No, but I’ve always wanted to. Even moreso after reading this book.
I’ve been to England only once many years ago and loved the Cotswold countryside and that is what I kept envisioning with this book.
I have not visited the English seaside, but I have been to Portree, Scotland.
LOVED that place. I took a photo of the colored houses and use that as my blog header and my social media and on this site too.
Yes, and I loved the wildness of Cornwall & Devon. I could easily envision the surroundings. If you haven’t been, watch "Doc Martin’ to get an idea of the Cornish seaside.
No , I never been there. I do love books set in England. I think it would be nice to visit.
I have never been to the English seaside but the book’s setting makes me want to visit it
No, I haven’t been to England. From what I have heard, it sounds wonderful. I would love to go. However, I know I won’t be able to because we are older parents to a 6, 9, and 16 year olds.
However, I love my children and wouldn’t change that for the world.
No, I have been to England. For some reason, I always picture Cornwall as being gloomy. But, yes I did enjoy the setting of St Tredock.
I would like to go to Cornwall. I did stay in a motel at the North Sea. It was unnerving because it had a full wall glass sliding door that anyone could have come in through.
