Freya faints at the first meeting, forcing Mischa and Victoria to interact. Were you surprised that it was the youngest of the group who seemed best equipped to deal with the situation? How did you interpret Victoria's reaction?

It was in the first few pages of the book, I really did not know anything about the character’s yet so no I was not surprised by Mischa or Victoria’s actions. But can say I did know Mischa was the most caring of the two.

I agree with Paula - it happens so early in the book I don’t think I had a feel for the charters yet, so I wasn’t surprised. I believe as we age it does become harder to deal with different issues.

The incident happened early in the book and the characters were not fully introduced. In hindsight, when you find out about Mischa story, her caring for her mother made her a perfect person to intercede with Victoria. At this stage of the book Victoria was still in her “self-controlled” mode.

Freya fainting allowed us to see the nurturing side of Mischa. As we learn about her life it makes sense that she would immediately care for a stranger.

Even though it was near the beginning of the story, I wasn’t surprised Mischa acted when Freya fainted but I was surprised by Victoria’s reaction as well as Mischa’s observations of Victoria’s reaction. Age was irrelevant in terms of looking at who reacted with regard to Mischa because she perhaps could have been an emergency responder at some point. Knowing Victoria’s age on the other hand helped paint a picture of someone who was wrapped tight and in the moment, a rather uncaring person
