Elizabeth tells her audience that “Courage is the root of change–and change is what we’re chemically designed to do…When you go home today, ask yourself what you will change. And then get started.” Did you find this inspiring and if so, in what ways?

On her last show, Elizabeth tells her audience that “Courage is the root of change – and change is what we’re chemically designed to do…When you go home today, ask yourself what you will change. And then get started.” (p. 360). What did you make of this monologue? Did you find it inspiring and if so, in what ways?

I think that Elizabeth was encouraging people (essentially women) to look at the life they were leading and to decide whether they were doing what they really wanted to do or just what they were expected to do. I do find her statement inspiring in that it requires close self-examination: What are my real goals and am I anywhere near meeting those goals? Should I be aiming higher?
