I like lots of variety and the only genres I usually steer clear of are horror and romance. Historical fiction and mysteries, especially historical mysteries, are two of my go-to genres. However, in the past couple of years, I have added non-fiction (history and nature/environment) and of all things, sci-fi (who knew?) to my favorite genres.

I always come back to and STAY with historical fiction and mystery.

I don’t think I have ever gone out of those two genres except for some women’s fiction - I enjoy women’s fiction at times.

I love historical fiction and have found there are a lot of amazing non-fiction books that tend to read like fiction. The Six by Loren Grush, Sisterhood: The Secret History of Women at the CIA by Liza Mundy, The Art Thief by Michael Finkel, Madame Fourcade’s Secret War by Lynne Olson are just a sampling of books you might enjoy since you like historical fiction and mystery.

I come back to mysteries time and again and love a well-written, clever one. I also devour history, especially ancient history tomes.

I’ve loved mysteries since I picked up my first Nancy Drew at age 10 and always have one going. I like history both fiction and non fiction. I never thought I liked science fiction but in the last couple of years have developed a love of time travel and space journeys.

I’m all over the place. There are very few genres that I don’t like, but my go-to genres are psychological thrillers and various sub-genres of romance.

I do love a good mystery. It’s the true crime girly in me that loves to try and solve them.

I agree on mysteries. I didn’t think I like sci-fi either, but I do like some. I tend to enjoy more Black Mirror style sci-fi.

I love mysteries. Always have, since I was young. But I will read just about anything and do.

I read lots of different genres but I like the ability to solve a book so mysteries and psychological thrillers. Are what I gravitate toward.

I love a good mystery, historical fiction and biographies. I am in a book group and we read a wide variety so pretty much anything goes except we don’t tend to read science fiction.

I love historical fiction and particularly WWII in Europe. I’ve probably read at least 100 books in this genre. That’s why I try to read something else in between these books. I also like historical fiction about different cultures or women who have made a difference. And i"m usually reading three books at the same time, a book, e-book and audio.

British murder mysteries, I can’t get enough.

I love crime and mystery, especially true crime

I love historical fiction, too. An excellent non-fiction book that I just read about WWII was Madame Fourcade’s Secret War by Lynne Olson. I know a historical fiction novel was released about her BUT would strongly recommend Olson’s book. It reads easily although there are a lot of names to keep track of throughout the book. The audiobook was excellent, too. I read interchanging ebook and audiobook.

Historical Fiction is my favorite.

I’m drawn to historical fiction with a strong female protagonist. It is nice to learn more about the past while learning about a whole new set of characters. Of course it is an added bonus if the book happens to be a mystery!

I am eclectic, lol. I enjoy almost all genres except manga. I do find that I typically go back more to historical fiction. I enjoy reading fiction based on real life. Sometimes it gets me to read the nonfiction that the story was based upon
