Dominic’s business is hosting “Abel Haggerty Murder Tours,” taking people to sites associated with Haggerty’s crimes. What’s your opinion of this profession? Have you heard of anything like it in real life? Would you go on such a tour?
I would not go on this tour. I also found Dominic suspicious the whole time and with his obsession with Abel. Abel did not seem like much of a mastermind, just killed random people when he felt like it.
I thought it was a bit odd but I think there are people who would be interested. It’s a bit like going on a haunted walk in Savanah. They are a bit creepy and people get off on that. I think its hokey and would not have any interest.
I think it was absolutely crazy. I have never heard of anything like this and certainly would never want to go on a tour like this!
I have heard of tours that are centered around serial killers. I would not go on one of these tours. I understand that there is a market for this type of activity, but personally feel that it exploits the tragedy of the crimes and gives undeserved attention to the murderers.
I was not surprised. People do odd things to make a living. I don’t believe he had many customers. I am sure there are many entrepreneurs doing the same thing. After all isn’t visiting Hollywood stars home or touring a haunted mansions just another version of the same thing? Would I go on it, no way, even though I enjoyed the many twists of this book, I would not like to be face to face with a serial killer or even close the murder scenes.
As creepy as it sounds, I would totally go on a tour like this! I appreciate the out-of-the-box thinking and I recognize the research a person would have to put in to create and maintain a tour like this.
London has had Jack the Ripper tours for years. I’ve heard they’re popular although I did not participate.
Although I would have no interest in going on such a tour I could see that others would be interested. There are people who are obsessed with true crime- podcasts, books, movies and even “dating” and marrying people behind bars. Personally I would be terrified to be up close and personal on a tour with someone who is that enamored with a serial killer.
Agree! I don’t need to be close to the mind of a serial killer nor his/her hunting grounds.
There are numerous tours and I’d go if one of the topic interested me. It’s kind of morbid, but real crime podcasts are the most popular.
I have seen tours like this in various places but they are not something I’d want to see. A bit macabre and very dark. But I guess if it’s entertaining and interesting to some….
There are tours for every type of gory interest. Just go to Savannah. People like that kind of thing. I personally would not be interested but I did take a ghost tour once.
We went on a tour in Chicago seeing sights and learning about the mafia. It was interesting, but seemed like fiction, although they claimed it was all true. I would never take a tour like Dominic’s, and I have no interest in books, pod casts, or documentaries on true crime
You left me hanging! Did the ghost tour result in sightings? ![]()
I would not go on a tour like this. I do think that there are people who are attracted to criminals and become obsessed…I think it is a crazy profession, but I do think it exists.
I’m a fan of Date Line, 20/20, and other true crime stories, I might actually go on a tour out of curiosity. I am just shocked and curious, of what people do, Truth is stranger than fiction is what I always say!
Would be of no interest to me but people like these kind of things.
I would absolutely go on a tour like this. I have a weird curiosity for that type of thing.
I’m with you. I would go just out of curiosity!
