Do you think in the end that Vincent has told Olivia the complete truth, or as a “liar by trade and by instinct” he’s held back a portion of it?
I think he told her the truth.
I think in the end she knew the truth from him. I think he wanted her to know and he was dying without much to lose by letting her know the truth. However, the public was another story!
I think he told her the truth, he wanted her to understand what really happened. However, he did want to protect the ones he loved and they did a good job of doing just that with the ending.
I agree with you Donna_J.
I think he told the truth in the end. I believe he wanted redemption to a certain extent but I also feel he thought it would help his daughter move on in her life.
I think he has told her what he remembers, but wants her to confirm or deny his story.
He remained connected to the past tragedy. He owned the house. He supported Lydia. It seems he wanted Olivia to discover and learn the truth; however, the memoir protected Lydia.
I think that he did tell her the truth in the end, because he wanted her to put it in the book. He knew he was dying so he had nothing to lose by telling the truth.
I think he told her the truth in the end. He had nothing else to lose by telling it. Though I am not sure he would have told her the entire truth had she not gone to see her mother. He didn’t expect that.
I agree that in the end Vincent told the truth. I think he wanted to come to terms with the secrets. I think he wanted some kind of reconciliation with his daughter even though it would most likely never be a complete healing.
I think he told Olivia his truth but I was conflicted that they decided to protect Lydia. As we heard from Poppy, Denny didn’t kill her, but Vincent and Lydia believed that he did and they acted on that belief the rest of their lives.
What a great question! I do believe in the end, Vincent was totally honest with Olivia. He needed her to know the truth before he died for both of their sakes.
I think he told her the truth!
I think that Vincent wanted to finally make peace, with not only Olivia, but with the past. He knew he wasn’t long for this world and did not want leave it as the villain that everyone portrayed him to be.
I think Vincent told her the truth as he knew it. He made a point of writing the hints for her before his mind was too far gone.
