Do you think Effie will stay in New Zealand or return to Scotland? Why?
I think Effie will stay. Her relationship with Lewis seemed to be growing and I sensed while Effie seems to want to push people away there is something deep in her that wants connection. Plus I think they mire from her father at the end invites her to stay.
I think she will stay. I think Effie’s loyalty to her family and love for Lewis will be strong enough for her to stay.
Effie will stay for a bit in New Zealand to wrap things up and then go back to Scotland, where she will sort things out in her mind. At some point after that, she may decide to go back to New Zealand permanently to be with Lewis. All this happened too quickly for Effie to make a rational decision on the spot.
I think Effie will stay in New Zealand to take care of her family and to be with Lewis. She now knows the story of her family and family will connect her to New Zealand in a way that Scotland never will.
I do think.she will stay in New Zealand. In some ways it feels that she will continue healing if she stays near where the pain was rather than running away from it. And her family is here. She won’t leave Anya and Anya will be happier, I think, if shes not removed from everything she knows.

This is hard for me to decide. I think a follow-up story could take her either way. I agree with those who say she will spend time in both New Zealand and Scotland. I just can’t decide where she will be most, but because of Lewis as well as family, I am leaning towards New Zealand.
Effie will stay in New Zealand, where she has more ties than to Scotland. She wants to spend time with Anya and also with Lewis. Maybe Effie will go to Scotland for a visit.

I don’t know what Effie will decide to do. I know what I’d like her to do…I’d like her to take Anya to Scotland for a visit, and contemplate what their next moves might be. After a time to thoroughly consider her options from the vantage point of the strengths she’s gained in Scotland she can decide where she is most comfortable and decide where to settle.

I think that she will stay in New Zealand. I feel that her heart was always in New Zealand but since she was forced to flee she tried to make Scotland her home. Now with most of her questions answered and rediscovering her family I can’t imagine that she would want to leave again.
