Do you have a favorite character in Jane and Dan at the End of the World? What did you enjoy most about that particular character?

While I laughed out loud more with Dan’s lines, I do relate more to Jane. Their dynamics seemed spot on for a long term marriage. Ms Oakley well portrayed both characters with some witty lines, but deeply flawed, lovable, relatable characters.

I absolutely loved Jane! I really enjoyed reading about her thoughts and though process, especially when she started to realize how eerily similar to her book the events unfolded.

I really liked Jane even though at times I thought she was over the top. She certainly wanted to be a hero and save everyone. And hey someone had to be in charge!

I related more to Jane in being someone who takes charge and is always looking for a solution. She was over the top, but it fit the vibe of the book, so I went with it. I did like how she learned that she is not always 100% correct (she might be able to tell that her husband is not being truthful but that does not mean she knows what he is really up to.)

I really enjoyed Jane. There were times when the things she did and said made me laugh.

I preferred Dan. Her thought before he acted. Jane did whatever she wanted whenever she wanted

My favorite character was definitely Jane. She tried to come across as being in charge and knowing how to control situations when in reality, she was tentative about making decisions

My favorite character was Dan. He seemed to be a kind person but clueless with regards to Jane’s feelings. He tried to move forward without conflicts which were unpredictable. He was the most easy-going character in this book.

I really liked Jane, as much as she drove me mad sometimes, I feel like she resembles me so much. I’m always the one to take care of our family, to plan things, to worry about everything and everyone, to come up with solutions to problems, to over-react but also to keep peace. All with love for my family underneath it all.

I agree and I’m kind of shocked how many people loved Jane. I found her to be selfish and impulsive. She even admitted to wanting the text messages to be Dan cheating so she would have a reason to leave. I thought Dan was level headed and kind.

I think Dan was my favorite character. He appears slightly clueless, but in reality he does understand Jane and his daughter. Like my husband, he tolerates Jane’s impulsivity and irrationality and still loves her.
