Among my favorites was the interaction between Daphne, from an aristocratic family, and Fern, from a working-class family. The parents of each strongly disapprove of their respective daughter’s career choice, but the girls, from vastly different backgrounds, form a sincere and lasting bond, even becoming roommates.
