Could you imagine the four photographs in the album? Was there a particular one you were drawn to the most?
Yes I did I imagined all four photographs. The one I was drawn to the most was the young woman and the swan. It my mind the photo was beautifully done. Also that was the photo this book was the most about.
I was very impressed with the author’s descriptions of them. I liked the one that showed Minnie & Molly. I felt the contrast between the completely still woman on the bed and the blurry movement of the still living twin was a haunting image.
As were many other readers, the swan and the twins were the most vivid to me. Until the end, when the swan and its death was explained, I found myself constantly going over the why’s of this picture in my mind. What was the connection, what weird thoughts were in the mind of the photographer. I was so glad to read it was not as morbid as I had been imagining.

Yes, I could imagine the photos as I was familiar with death portraits. There seemed to be an elegance, though, in these photos, at least that’s what I imagined. Blurring the photos added emotion, at least as I imagined!
I found it hard to imagine the death photographs so I had to do a little Google research. That said, I think the swan one was the most intriguing to me.

I did imagine all four photos and was more drawn to the one with the swan. It was talked about the most and I’m an animal person, so it is the photo that felt the most tragic to me.
I could imagine the images and could envision the one with the swan most clearly, probably because it was discussed more in the book. I really enjoyed the reveal of the actual circumstances behind each photo.
I have not quite finished the book but it is a fascinating concept to me. As a forensic pathologist, I deal with death nearly every day in my work. Death can be such a controversial subject to many and one most don’t want to discuss. I find the photographs as a memorial a wonderful, though unusual tribute to those who have died. And with the mystery surrounding the album, it lends a whole other dimension to the plot. I am anxious to finish the book and hope it doesn’t disappoint.
I imagined each of them and would have liked to have seen them all, but the swan photo the most. Second would be the glass coffin.
Yes, it was easy to picture the photographs from the descriptions. The swan photograph was the most important and evocative.
I was able to imagine them, but I still wanted to see them. The author did a great job describing them. I did like the swan photo, but it was the twin on the bed and the other in motion that I found especially moving.
