Christmas/Holiday books

I’m not a big holiday movie fan but I do enjoy reading a book or two set during the holidays. It doesn’t have to be about the celebration necessarily. Would love to hear any favorites.

Of course we all love A Christmas Carol.
I’ve also enjoyed Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan.
Christmas Holiday by Somerset Maughm.

And I want to check out Time of the Child by Niall Williams.

I am currently reading “Time of the Child” by Niall Williams. @Anne_Glasgow if you liked Keegan, you might like this one.

I am also looking forward to reading Benjamin Stevenson’s “Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret.” It is the third in his entertaining Ernest Cunningham series.

Thanks @Gabi_J
I have Niall Williams on hold at my library but I’m not sure I’ll get it before Christmas.

I’ll check out the Benjamin Stevenson title.

I have the NIall WIlliams book on hold at my library, too (I love “Small Things Like These”; For pure fun, I like David Rosenfelt’s Andy Carpenter series & he usually has a very loosely-themed Christmas entry each year. “Christmas Train” by David Baldacci is a nice quick read. But my all-time favorite is “Best Christmas Pageant Ever” by Barbara Robinson–a must read every holiday season.

Thanks @Carol_Ann_Robb, I’ve not heard of the Barbara Robinson book. I’ll check into it.

The Stevenson books are fun and entertaining…palate cleansers. Not overly complicated.

I also enjoy David Rosenfelt’s books, including the kind-of-holiday ones. I appreciate mixing light entertains reads in with heavier topics. I need the variety.

@Gabi_J “palate cleanser” - Hahaha! I hadn’t heard the term applied to books before, but it’s perfect. I’m going to have to use that sometime.
