Ever have one of those books that you just can stop thinking about? For me, the first one of 2026 is John of John by Douglas Stuart, which I read for review last week (which will publish in the May 6 BookBrowse Review). Such a wonderfully nuanced character study of a man and his son; absolutely excellent. Those here who enjoy well-written literary fiction really need to get a copy of this one.

I was totally blown away by Shuggie Bain so Iām looking forward to John of John. Hoping I can snag a library copy.

I have also downloaded the ebook John of John. I have 25 pages left to read of the Insomniacs and then I will start John of John. Fortunately we are having rain all day.

Oprah has just today announced her selection of John of John so that will give it a big boost. This could become the big unexpected bestseller of the year.
