Bookriot has released their choices for the 50 best historical fiction titles of the century so far. How many have you read? 21 for me, and for the most part I agree with their selections. I was thrilled to see The Lilac People made the list. That one, in my opinion, was one of the best historical fiction works I’d read in a really long time. The other on the list that has stuck with me over the years is Code Name Verity.
I’m surprised that I have read 25. Many of them are older titles and titles my book club has chosen over the years.
I have read a few, but not too many.

I have read 11 of them and own an additional 10. ( I buy way too many books.) I was pleased to see The Good Lord Bird on the list. I love books with a strong voice.
10 and I am glad to see Towles included. He is my favorite living author. If you have not read The Lincoln Highway i highly recommend it
Oh @River_H I am a huge Amor Towles fan too. My first and always best though is A Gentleman In Moscow. I call it my desert island book because I feel like I could read it again and again without tiring of it. So far I’ve read it three times.
