So, I’m reading away, totally enjoying the book I’m currently involved with, but all the while I’m thinking ahead to what I’m going to read next. Is that weird? Does anyone else do that? I wonder what that says about my personality. :zany_face:

While I don’t always think ahead to the next book, I do sometimes. Add to this my quirk of still reflecting on the book I just finished. Three plots battling for my attention!

You are definitely not the only one who does this, Kim! I take it to the extreme of starting that next book while I’m reading the other (sometimes they relate, like Demon Copperhead and David Copperfield, but not always!). I usually have 5 or so books in my currently reading list. I’m afraid that is just a sign of my disordered mind! That’s just me, of course!

I definitely do that, especially if I’m not particularly enjoying the book I’m reading.

Count me in. I nearly always know what’s next and sometimes plan the whole month ahead.

Haha, that’s awesome, @Anne_Glasgow! I do as well, but only out of necessity - my review/book club/interview schedule usually sets my books for me. However, I’ve got a couple of weeks coming up where I have the opportunity to read something just for fun. But even if I’ve got my books all set, I still tend to start thinking about the next one before I’m done with the current one.

Oh yes on not enjoying a book, but I have stopped reading if I am not enjoying the book. :slight_smile:

Sometimes I keep going and then ask myself why? :slight_smile:

Not weird, I also do it. Especially as I am reading the last 50 pages of the book I am reading!

I recently gave myself permission to return a brand new title that was held for me by the public library. About 50 pages in, I knew it wasn’t for me. Good thing as there were three people waiting for their turn.

I usually have a couple books lined up for my next read. Currently have three waiting for me after I finish the current one.
