I am still reading the book. I received it last week. I will join the discussion a soon as I finish it.
Hi Janice, no rush! The conversation will be open for six weeks so please take your time.
I am also still reading the book. The print is too small for me for long reading sessions. And the topic is difficult, but I definitely will finish it-- and pass it on!!
I did finish the book several weeks ago, and I apologize for not responding to you more quickly. I had never heard of Dr. Magnus Hirshfield or The. Institute of Sexual Science and that is why I love to read. I had sworn off anymore World War Two books because they are painful to read. However, I think they are important because people need to be reminded of mankind’s cruelty to others. Bertie, Karl, and Sophia are sympathetic characters. This book reminded me that poeple’s prejudices never change. I honestly think that what happened against the LBGQ community is still happening under the current US administration. wi certainly recommend this book to others and the book clubs to which I belong.
