So glad you felt the same about this book. I believe it is my #1 read of the year. Not only was a good solid story but I learned so much. I was not aware of the seed banks distributed around this world, that alone was a definite plus. Also this is my third book with this author and I am never disappointed in any of her novels. Savy writer!

I finished Detective Aunty by Uzma Jalaluddin. It wasn’t really cozy; I found it to be too heavy with grief and messed-up people. I didn’t really like any of the characters, nor how the main character treated others (especially a friend in the end). I might give its sequel a try, but will wait a while…
A book I had on hold came in early! I can’t wait to figuratively crack it open (it’s an e-book; swipe it open doesn’t sound as grand, does it?). It’s The Ghost of the Mountains: Unraveling the Secrets of the Snow Leopard by Kulbhushansingh Suryawanshi. (Could BookBrowse please add his name to the helpful Author Pronunciation guide?)

I think @Lisa_B3 is referring to the authors pronunciation guide. I don’t know if that lives as part of each author’s page or as a standalone.

Oh, I’m so glad that her other two were also great. I have not read them yet. I learned so much and it kept me very interested. I would love to see it become a movie!

I read Theo of Golden and am now almost finished with Mad Mable. My heart is reeling from Theo of Golden, which was beautiful from start to finish. Although Mad Mable is entertaining, it is “average.”

Thanks, @Anne_Glasgow & @Lisa_B3 - Unfortunately that field isn’t available for authors that aren’t featured. We haven’t reviewed any of their books on BookBrowse, so we I don’t have the ability to add pronunciation to the record.
I’m confused – is featuring a totally different thing? (Sorry for any trouble!)
ETA P.S. Thank you for the pronunciation you gave in your earlier reply, that’s all I need and having turned to BB before for the pronunciations (so helpful!), wondered about its possible inclusion.
I was going to ask the same. Will you say a bit more about what it requires to get an author page on BB? Is it only for authors that are assigned to reviewers? I look here often for author pronunciations and have always wondered who makes the list. Thanks. @kim.kovacs. I feel like a tour of BB would be helpful.

An author’s bio gets listed on BookBrowse when we create the longlist. This isn’t something we write; we pull it in from the publisher’s page for the book. This is what you’re seeing when you look at the author you’ve mentioned above. It’s a relatively automated process.
Once our reviewer commits to reviewing a book for a specific BookBrowse Review issue, it becomes a featured book. At that point, it becomes a highly manual process. The book is imported from the longlist into the main BookBrowse website and we do a lot of additional work on the book’s page to get it ready for our members. This includes creating a full author page (bio, photo, website link, pronunciation, interview if there’s one available), adding industry clips/reviews, excerpts, reading guides, etc. Depending on how much information is available for a book, this can take up to 20 minutes (generally around 3-4 hours per issue).
While we’d like to include all this information for each book and author the software isn’t set up for that, and even if it was, we’re not staffed for the extra time it would require to enter books/authors we’re not featuring.
