What are you reading this week? And what did you think of last week’s books? (7/2/2026)

After having finished “The Whistler” I went back to read her “Bel Canto” I loved it, her characters were some I will remember years from now. I like her message, however, I was greatly disappointed in its epilogue. I could have done without it. The marriage was a complete surprise and in my humble opinion unnecessary.

I am now beginning Lisa See new book for book club,”Daughters of Sun and Moon” Its their selection for this month.

It’s available for rent on several services. Sometime in August if others are interested.

This week I’m reading Michael Connelly’s new book…IRONWOOD. Features Rene Ballard, with a cameo by a guy named Bosch. The book is set on Catalina Island, and is a typical Connelly great detective thriller

I’m also finishing up Craig Johnson’s latest Longmire novel….BROTHERS McKAY. Typically Longmire. Tough, smart, empathetic, and did I say tough? A great read. Always nice to immerse myself in Wyoming lore. Between Johnson and C.J. Box I am becoming enamored of Wyoming

I’m reading NO MORE TEARS: THE DARK SECRETS OF JOHNSON & JOHNSON by Gardiner Harris. I finished reading THE KEEPER by Tana French. It’s a great book, as are all French’s books.

I wanted to like BEL CANTO but just didn’t. It’s one of those books that everyone but me liked, I guess.

@George_M, you & my hubby should be reading buddies! He just bought Ironwood and has also read all the Longmire books.

I finished Scythe. It was disappointing.

I’m reading: Valour, DCC, Empire of Silence, Pride and Prejudice, Empire of storms, and Tower of Dawn.
